Jonathan Moseley attended undergraduate and medical school at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is also completing a Masters of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

While maintaining his primary care practice in the US, he has traveled on short-term international medical projects in Haiti, Bolivia, China, Czech Republic, and Peru. In his career, he has served as Medical Director for a volunteer charitable clinic and Physician Director of Continuing Medical Education for a local hospital.
